Quantity. You will need 15 to 18 Fuzzi Bunz diapers with inserts for newborns-- you will probably wash a load every other day with this amount depending on your baby's bowel movements. You can get by with 12 if you don't mind washing often. Some newborns require more but 15 to 18 is a good number to start. You can always add more. You will need 12 to 18 Fuzzi Bunz diapers with inserts for older babies depending on how often you would like to wash. Also, the more Fuzzi Bunz you have in your rotation, the less use per diaper which means they will last longer.
Inserts. Your purchase includes a microterry insert for each diaper. We offer additional inserts for those that do not like the microterry or need additional inserts for heavier wetters. You can visit the inserts section for more details. For normal wetters one insert will usually be sufficient for daytime. Two inserts may be needed for heavy wetters or nighttime.
Hemp Fleece Inserts--4 Layers. Great for heavier wetters.
Hemp Terry Inserts -- Thinnest option of the inserts. Only 1/8 of an inch thick! For normal wetters. 4 layers.
MicroTerry Inserts--3 Layers. Normal wetters. Softest feel in the diaper. Quick to Dry. Most durable.
Hemp Prefolds--Great for overnights and heavier wetters. Bulkiest option.
Insert Sizing For Fuzzi Bunz: Size 1 fits small diapers, Size 2 fits M/L/PT/XL/XXL diapers, and Size 3 (only available in Microterry) fits XL & XXL diapers.
Doubler add-ins. All Doublers are intended to be used with an insert. They can be used straight on top of an insert or be folded and placed in the area needing the most protection. One Size.
Wipes. 24 wipes if you want to go all out. You can get by with 12 to 18. There are many easy wipe recipes but we recommend the Natural Wipes Spray in the Wipes & More section. If you are going to cloth diaper you might as well use cloth wipes. They will pay for themself quickly and are better for your baby. We offer a variety of wipes from economical to premium.
2 diaper pail liners/bags. PUL'd diapers work best dry pailed. Throw the liner/bag in to wash with the Fuzzi Bunz diapers. You need 2 so you will have one while the other is washing. The pail liners/bag do an excellent job of controlling the smell and can even be used as a pail. You can get by with garbage bags as liners if you don't want to spend the money.
